Cyber Relationship: The Truth about Cyber Love

Imagine this scenario:
You have been cheated by a partner for long years, and as soon as you knew about it, you got up and say, “It’s over!” You’ve grieved so much for the lost love and after months of trying to cope with the situation, a friend tells you to go online and join  single personals or adult online dating.

Adult online dating is not a new concept to you. You have tried joining in some of the most popular online dating sites before, but haven’t really paid much interest on it believing that you’ve found the perfect partner. But now, the situation calls for it and you’ve found yourself deeply drawn to such trend. So there you go, and chatted with someone whom you don’t know. Soon enough, you find yourselves exchanging romantic emails everyday. You’ve exchanged phone numbers, addresses, and sent smileys, romantic quotes, flowers, chocolates, and even “I Love You’s”.

After exchanging those sweet lines, you’ve finally decided to meet in person. You’ve arranged the date, the setting, and you’ve finally figured out what dress to wear. Then, you start dreaming of something romantic, something that you think will be the most interesting event in your life. And, at the moment you see the person, you feel like you have butterflies in your stomach and sweaty palms.

If you’ve been on that situation, then one truth remains TRUE – cyber love has arrived and there’s no way for you to run from it.

Cyber Relationship and Its Basics

In the early days of the Internet, online dating has never been so popular. The only way for people to meet someone with whom they could share some romantic feelings was through personal acquaintances, or what many people call as “personal introductions”. Friendship is the most commonly used form of alibi here. But since the advent of the internet, all things have changed. People started to date with someone they just first met online through chat rooms, message boards, or even email lists. And, on their first meeting, a spark of love was felt.

Well, online dating does not only work for those who are looking for virtual or soon-to-be-real partners. Fact is, even if you are not looking for romance, there are some instances when you may be stroke with a hint of romance unexpectedly. Soon enough, you’ve found yourself on a cyber trap.

Being on a cyber trap is not an all-evil matter. Those who have reaped great results from online dating may agree to this, and that it is because online dating has its own advantages. One of the most beneficial effects of this growing trend is that people who are not comfortable meeting people in public places may feel comfortable with what the internet can give. Also, it would be valuable if you are living with a busy schedule and a number of responsibilities are waiting for your attention, like you have children to take of which may make your chances of going out to meet new acquaintances much lesser.

The internet and adult online dating also gives you the chance to meet and know people of different age, gender and race. It gives you access to the outside world, and if you are somehow allergic with commitment, you can be assured that you’ll be dealing with someone on the net with no strings attached.

Although that said, dating and falling head over heels in love in the net is still not a safe thing to consider. Several cases of unsuccessful adult relationship which started on the net were already reported, and many of the victims have grieved over pains and heartaches for long months and even years. Worst is that, many of those who were victims of this ever growing cyber love trend died of suicide. Yes, if you haven’t heard yet something about that awful situation, then open your eyes now. It happened and will happen.

So before you let yourself fall into the trap of cyber dating and cyber relationship, think for a billion times. Ask yourself whether you really want it, or if you are really ready to take the challenges. If you are not sure enough about your decision to go and meet someone in person after you’ve talked and exchanged sweet notes online, then ask someone you know whom you think can help you handle the situation in a positive way. You have a lot of friends to help you decide on it, after all. And, whatever your decision is, always be careful.
