Truth in Relationship – How Far Can You Go?
By admin on Aug 8, 2007 in Love and Relationship Advices
“Honesty is the best policy”. This is a saying that has been instilled in our minds since we were young. Yet trends these days reflect that we either do not pay attention to this, or do not give importance to it at all. Honesty is an important virtue to uphold in society because truth in relationship among people is a key building block to ensuring a strong and healthy relationship between lovers, friends, or co-workers.
There’s another saying, or rather question, asking “what is love without trust?” Perhaps a better question to ask is “what is any relationship without trust?” Having truth in relationship is, of course, not the only thing that would keep a relationship going, but it’s a basic start. Once you are able to gain someone’s trust and they earn your trust, a sense of security would be present that would help propagate the relationship. Partners would be more open to talking about business, friends would come to you for advice, lovers would be open about talking about their past – these are some things that could take place if there is truth in relationship.
Cheating is one of the more frequent causes for divorce these days. Spouses lying to their families on their whereabouts and company are things that could break any relationship down. A business partner stealing money from a company, a so-called friend spreading rumors – these are situations in which truth in relationship seems to be looked over. How can one feel secure with someone who they can’t trust?
Moreover, people that see this particular quality will open more doors for other relationships. You will be introduced as one that is trustworthy and loyal. Having truth in relationship could mean having no love lost between friends, gaining more potential business partners, or even being readily accepted by a lover’s family. Trust could get you a long way. It gives security, it gives comfort, it gives loyalty, it gives love – and it doesn’t stop there. Who knows what else having truth in relationship entails?
Truth in relationship helps maintain and propagate the dynamics between partners. The amount of trust between two people ultimately determines how far a relationship will go. Trust goes a long way for any type of relationship, whether it is a business relationship or personal. So before you go and tell a lie to a partner, think twice. You never know what doors may close because of this.
